Remote Sensing Lab
Description
The Remote Sensing Lab is a remote sensing facility for atmospheric aerosols that studies short-lived atmospheric constituents such as aerosols, clouds or trace gases, which remain in the atmosphere for between hours and weeks. The members of the consortium have instruments to observe how these components are distributed in time and space, and to study how they interact with each other, with the rest of the atmospheric components, and with solar radiation. This enables reliable atmospheric predictions, including short-term hazardous weather and health warnings and long-term climate change assessments.
The aim is to generate high quality data on these constituents that remain in the atmosphere for a short time, which can be used in meteorological models of air quality or climate.
It is part of the ACTRIS ERIC european infraestructure.
