CIVICA was selected in 2019 by the European Commission as one of the pilot [European Universities](https://ec.europa.eu/education/education-in-the-eu/european-education-area/european-universities-initiative_en), funded under the Erasmus+ programme. After a 3-year pilot phase, CIVICA was selected in July 2022 to receive further support from Erasmus+ for the following four years (2022-2026). Additionally, the alliance receives complementary support through various schemes at both national and transnational levels.
